Valuing a business goes beyond applying quantitative techniques or theoretical models—it’s also a matter of perspective. Various nuances and qualitative factors significantly influence the determination of a company’s true value. To explore these aspects, CFA Society India is hosting an exclusive workshop that delves deep into valuation theory and uncovers the practical nuances of valuation.
The workshop will be led by Mr. Hardik Shah, Director at Ernst & Young Merchant Banking Services LLP, and will focus on the Consumer and Media & Entertainment sectors. Attendees will also gain insights through a case study on valuing a company in the consumer sector.
While the workshop is primarily designed for members of CFA Society India, a limited number of seats are available for CFA Program candidates.

Hardik Shah - Director, EY India
Hardik Shah is a Director at Ernst & Young Merchant Banking Services LLP. In his journey of nearly 9 years at EY, Hardik has worked on numerous valuation engagements, predominantly in the Consumer and Media & Entertainment sectors. His experience spans across a diverse array of projects, including transaction valuations (mergers, demergers, acquisitions, and fundraising), bid support for acquisitions, arbitration, family settlements, regulatory compliance (FEMA and tax-related matters), brand valuations, impairment testing, business combinations, and valuations of portfolio companies for funds.
Prior to joining EY, Hardik spent around 7 years at ICICI Securities and Religare Capital Markets in institutional equity research and investment banking roles.
