Behind the scenes of Angel Investing: A fireside chat | Bangalore

Abhishek Goyal is a seasoned player in the venture capital space and has become a prominent angel investor in India. Abhishek started his career with Yahoo & Amazon and then started his investing journey with Accel Partners. After working for 3 years at Accel, Abhishek launched his own ventures and and founded two startups —UrbanTouch (which was later acquired by online fashion flash sales retailer FashionAndYou), and his current venture Tracxn, that has recently launched its IPO and become a publicly listed company. He has over a decade of experience in the venture funding space and was one of the first investors in Delhivery, where he put in his savings to provide seed funding for the company. Abhishek holds a bachelor’s degree in technology, specialising in computer science and engineering, from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He has been featured twice in the prestigious Fortune 40 Under 40 list consecutively in 2018 and 2019. Abhishek met his co-founder Neha while he was associated with Accel partners. During their first encounter, they discussed how difficult it was to get information on private companies. Neha has already been working on a software to solve this problem and they decided to come together to create Tracxn.

Sandeep Gupta CFA is a serial startup entrepreneur. Currently at Lucretius he helps fund raising for startups as well as established organizations through innovative structures like RBF (revenue-based financing), AIF’s, Fractional Investments, SM REIT’s etc. He most recently Co-Founded BHIVE Alts (Investment Platform) and BHIVE Fund (Cat 2 SEBI AIF). His last corporate role was as head of Fractional Investments at Magicbricks. Sandeep has over two decades of transactions and investment experience. He has worked for marquee corporates, non-profits & PSU’s like BCCL (TOI Group), Britannia (Wadia Group), New Chennai Township, GMR, Cinepolis, Indian School of Business, India Tourism etc. He is also an Angel Investor in Multiple Startups. Sandeep is a Charter Holder from the CFA Institute USA and is a Certified Investment Performance Measurement professional. He is a B. Com from Delhi University and is a Post Graduate in Management from IIM, Ahmedabad. He is an active volunteer with CFA Society India and chairs the Public Awareness Committee as a Board Member.
