Sonia Dasgupta – MD and Head – Financial Institutions Group, JM Financial
Sonia Dasgupta heads the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) and the M&A Origination Team at the Investment Banking Division of JM Financial Ltd. She is a veteran Investment Banker with over 20 years of experience and has worked on several landmark investment banking & advisory assignments. She was named as one of the India’s Top 100 Women in Finance in 2019 by AIWMI (Association of International Wealth Management of India). Sonia has also handled several marquee M&A transactions for a large number of domestic and overseas clients including ICICI Bank/ HDFC Bank. She has played an active role in key corporate restructurings, including ICICI and ICICI Bank Merger, Bajaj Auto De-merger, Indiabulls De-merger, Sundaram AMC acquiring Principal AMC, Divestment of stake of Financial technologies in MCX; Stake increase by TransUnion in CIBIL. Sonia is an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and has completed the CFA program.
Radhika Gupta – MD and CEO, Edelweiss AMC
Radhika Gupta is an investment professional with a range of diverse experiences across asset management – globally and in India, which includes start-up and global giants, public & private sector, and institutional & retail clients. She started her career with McKinsey, later switched to Wall Street, joining AQR Capital – pioneers in hedge funds. She then moved to India in 2009 to start her own venture – Forefront Capital Management, the first registered hedge fund in India, which was acquired by Edelweiss Financial Services Limited in 2014. She led Edelweiss’ acquisition of JP Morgan’s Mutual Fund business and Ambit Capital’s AIF business, to become the CEO of Edelweiss Asset Management in 2017. Since then, her efforts are concentrated in helping build brand Edelweiss AMC into a fast growing, differentiated and innovative asset manager. The recent launch of Bharat Bond ETF in partnership with Government of India, India’s first corporate bond ETF, is yet another step in that direction.
Lakshmi Iyer – President, CIO – Debt and Head – Products, Kotak Mahindra AMC
Lakshmi Iyer heads fixed income and products team at KMAMC. She has been with the organisation since the last 20 years.Joining KMAMC in 1999 as a fund manager, Lakshmi was responsible for credit research, deal execution, managing fund performance across all debt funds and assisting sales in client interaction. In addition to that, she has been a portfolio specialist, and managed product related initiatives such as product pricing and coordination with the funds management and sales team in that role. Prior to joining Kotak, Lakshmi worked with Credence Analytics Pvt Ltd, as a research analyst where she was tracking corporate bond markets in India and generating research reports. She was also instrumental in conceiving various financial software tools in collaboration with software and technical teams. Lakshmi holds an MBA degree in finance from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies. She loves exploring new places for travelling, is a big food lover, and is an ardent movie buff.
