Kazi Arif Uz Zaman, CFA is a partner at GestAlt Network, a Bangalore-based investment partnership. Kazi has ~24 years of experience in private equity and investment banking having led PE investments aggregating to over USD 200 m in diverse sectors such as business services, consumer services, renewable energy, telecoms, industrials/ manufacturing and retail with full deal life cycle experience. Kazi has also been an active angel investor in the fintech space. Prior to co-founding GestAlt Network in early 2017, Kazi served as Managing Director, Private Equity at Everstone Capital, a leading India-focused mid-market private equity fund where he worked for over nine years and prior to that as Associate Director at ICICI Venture (2005-2007), the private equity arm of ICICI Bank and at the time the largest domestic private equity fund manager in India by AUM. He had earlier spent 9 years on sell side advisory with ANZ Investment Bank / ANZ Grindlays Bank advising on consummated deals valued at over USD 10 billion in India, South East Asia, UK, and sub-Saharan Africa. Kazi holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (1996) and was awarded a Bachelor of Technology degree with Honours in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology at Kharagpur (1994). He has served as a Founder Director of the CFA Society India (legally incorporated as the Indian Association of Investment Professionals) in 2004-05. |
