Voss, CFA will share some of the investing secrets that he used to steer the Davis Appreciation & Income Fund to best the S&P 500 by over 45%.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Jason A. Voss, CFA is Senior Consultant at Focus Consulting Group, a firm advising active investment managers on how to improve their cultures and performance. Prior to that he served as global Content Director at CFA Institute, as well as co-Portfolio Manager of the Davis Appreciation & Income Fund, which during his tenure bested the S&P 500 by 49.1%, was a Lipper #1 fund, and was one of Morningstar’s first 10 funds awarded Stewardship Grade “A.” Jason is the author of many publications, including the Meditation Guide for Investment Professionals, Return of the Active Manager, The Intuitive Investor, and Valuation Techniques: Discounted Cash Flow, Earnings Quality, Measures of Value Added, and Real Options. Jason is a frequent writer and speaker about how active investment managers may improve their performance. Voss has published research in multiple journals, including the Journal of Private Equity, the Journal of Behavioral Finance, and the Swiss accounting journal, IRZ. Research interests include: financial statement analysis; geopolitics; intuition; lie detection; and meditation. Jason earned his B.A. in Economics, and MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Colorado, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

MODERATOR:

Navneet Munot, CFA joined SBI Funds Management as Chief Investment Officer in December 2008. He has over 25 years of rich experience in Financial Markets. In his role, Navneet is responsible for overseeing investments worth over USD 42 billion across various asset classes in mutual fund and segregated accounts. In his previous assignment, he was the Executive Director & Head – multi –strategy boutique with Morgan Stanley Investment Management. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley Investment Management, he has worked as Chief Investment Officer – Fixed Income and Hybrid Funds at Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund and worked in various areas such as fixed income, equities and foreign exchange. Navneet is the chairman of Indian association of Investment Professional (India society of CFA charter holders with over 2000 members). His articles on matters related to financial markets have widely been published. Navneet is Nominee Director on the board of SBI PENSION FUNDS (P) LTD. Navneet is a postgraduate in Accountancy and Business Statistics and a qualified Chartered Accountant. He is also a Charter Holder of the CFA Institute and CAIA Institute. He has also done FRM.
