About the Speakers
Ms. Hetal Dalal
Hetal is the President & Chief Operating Officer of Institutional Investor Advisory Services India Limited. She is responsible overall business execution.
Hetal led IiAS’ team that worked with International Finance Corporation (of the World Bank Group) and BSE Limited (earlier known as the Bombay Stock Exchange) on the development of the Indian Corporate Governance Scorecard. Hetal provides oversight to IiAS’ advocacy of ESG in India.
Hetal is on the global board of StePs Stewardship Professionals Foundation, which is non-for-profit corporation in the education space, attempting to create a certification programme for stewardship professionals worldwide. She is also a TEDx speaker.
Prior to joining IiAS, Hetal worked with CRISIL Limited – a Standard & Poor’s company, and India’s largest rating agency. During her 13 years at CRISIL, Hetal held positions across several verticals in the ratings business. She joined as an analyst in the corporate ratings business and then moved to be part of the founding team of CRISIL’s Global Analytical Centre. In her last role at CRISIL, she was Director, Business Development for Bank Loan Ratings.
Hetal is a Chartered Accountant and holds a management degree with a specialization in finance from NMIMS Mumbai, which was then affiliated to the Mumbai University.
Mr. Anup Pawar
Anup Pawar is the Group Head of Research at Institutional Investor Advisory Services India Limited (IiAS). He leads IiAS’ team of analysts, overseeing the research and analysis of voting recommendation reports and other advisory products. Anup plays a key role in IiAS’ ESG rating and research initiatives, having contributed to the development of the firm’s ESG ratings methodology. He was also part of the team that collaborated with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and BSE to develop the Corporate Governance Scorecard.
Before joining IiAS, Anup worked at Citigroup, specializing in quantitative modeling for the bank’s global businesses, including macroeconomic and scenario modeling. He also worked at JP Morgan, where he led real estate valuation for JP Morgan’s real estate funds, conducting valuations, acquisition and disposition analysis, and strategic reviews of real estate assets.
Anup holds a Master’s degree in Management Studies (Finance) from Sydenham Institute of Management, Mumbai, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Mumbai University. He is a CFA Charterholder and has also completed the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing.
