Mona Naqvi is the Managing Director of Research, Advocacy & Standards (RAS) and Head of the Research & Policy Center at CFA Institute. She leads the Institute’s global research, policy, and standards-setting agenda, shaping the strategic intelligence that underpins the future of the investment profession. A capital markets futurist with expertise spanning finance, technology, and sustainability, Mona previously served as an economist at the Bank of England, a policy advisor to the Obama Administration, and Research Director at a climate-finance think tank funded by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore. She later joined S&P Global, where she spearheaded the S&P 500 ESG Index and founded the S&P Investor Council, representing more than one-third of global AUM. At CFA Institute, Mona oversees initiatives exploring how disruptive forces—from AI and data-driven markets to sustainability and demographic shifts—are reshaping investment practice and market structures. Her work focuses on strengthening market integrity, elevating practitioner insight, and advancing long-term value creation. A published author and regular commentator on Bloomberg and CNBC, Mona is recognized for her research on systemic short-termism, market inefficiencies, and the financial materiality of sustainability. She frequently speaks at global forums and has received multiple industry leadership awards. She also serves on the Governance Council of the International WELL Building Institute.
